Thanks Hox! Months on months with no Historie releases had left a void which no amount of mass produced isekai trash could ever hope to fill, you're doing God's work.
I just came upon your RotTK translations - thank you! As a child (and adult sadly) I've tried reading the novel... but never made it very far. The manga is way more compelling. You mentioned the Water Margin - as far as you know, is there a translation of this floating around?
Hi Hox, long-time fan! I've been looking everywhere for an english-version manga for Suikoden (Water Margin). I was quite surprised that you chose not to translate this one despite translating (and loving) Romance of Three Kingdoms by the same author/artist!
Anyways, if you know of any places where I can buy or view English version of the comic, I'd be very very thankful!
Thanks for your reply. TO be honest, I'm surprised that he hasn't: I mean, I haven't read it but it has a lot of similarities to Three Kingdoms and many have argued that Water Margin has been written by the same author but then he (Luo Guanzhong) never completed the work and it was picked up by someone else! Anyways, I really hope he does if he finds it interesting enough!.. fans will be thrilled!!
100% agreed. I also saw Hokuto no Gun(fangroup that has translated other Yokoyama works) dazzling around the idea of picking it up if Hox doesn't, perhaps there's a chance!
Nope, just been busy. I'm not sure why another group picked up Historie though, considering I've been consistently keeping up with it, but it happens in the scanlation community.

ReplyDeleteThe novel or Yokoyama's manga adaptation? The former, yes, the latter, not in English but in French and Italian I believe.

There's sadly no English translation available as of now. I really hope Hox picks it up sometime though, it looks so good.

DeleteSorry, I don't plan to translate for the forseeable future, given that there are other historical works of his that I would prefer to prioritize.
Deletedid you give up on scanlation?another group is working on historie.
