Goodnight Punpun v8

With chapters 85-89 done, that wraps up volume 8 of Goodnight Punpun. Quite an excellent volume, indeed. I complained about Asano's text heavy approach on my previous site and wished he would pay more attention on the visual side of things and, lo and behold, that's exactly what he does in v8 by playing around with the pyramid representation of Punpun. Since v8 was released Feb.26 this year, don't expect v9 to be out until around 4 months or so from now and that's not taking into account of the time that it takes my kind anonymous raw provider having to go buy and scan it.

    What an ending to the volume. That's a weapon that'll do more than just a bit of damage to the dear boy in no time at all. Golly, I really can't wait for the next volume.

    Thanks for continuing to be brave by bringing us such an odd series as Punpun. I thought we were going to get a look at Punpun's actual face, but alas, it was just a tease.
    It looks like something big might actually happen in the next volume.

    You can't have punpun, without his obsessive idealized love to drive him forwards. Well, not forward, but providing him an excuse to live what otherwise he would realize is nothing buy a mediocre life in a mediocre world. I honestly can't see him overcoming it, because i myself, can't.
    To bad i allways missed your threads hox, and thanks for translating the only manga thats constantly on my head.

    Well, I'm not ashamed to confess I cried a bit while reading Punpun, I can't remember any other manga doing that before. Damn this manga is a true masterpiece.

    would you be interested in picking new Asano work?

    Umibe no Onnanoko - is now a complete volume, released in Japan month ago.

    I just discovered this beautiful series. I downloaded vol. 1-6 somewhere and I was looking for more, it's so good, so far it's the best Inio Asano I've read. Thanks for all your hard work, hope you will complete the whole manga.
