Ad Astra v6 (complete)

I was fortunate enough to have Nixbrod the editor quickly respond to my help-wanted post, so here it is. Chapter 32 of Ad Astra, which starts off volume 6. My planned pace is just to do one chapter a week until we wrap up this series, so we can't beat the frogs who will very soon have the final 13th volume translated officially in just a few months. Still, it's better than having this series be stuck without a translator for the English-only speakers.

*I am resuming work on Kamui-den so don't think I've forgotten about that series.

  1. Hello. Would it be possible to upload once more volume 5 of the series? I missed that one. Anyway, thanks for everything.

  6. You've mentioned disliking the art style of Ad Astra. Is it because it's more resembling a western comic? What do you think makes a manga a manga?

    1. I don't think it has anything to do with that. Kanetko Atsushi and others are heavily influenced Western comics and I like their art. Also, I actually like Western comics.

I just think the character designs (face-wise) look really bland.

    2. Better than Historie's "one face for every expression/feeling" at least.

    3. As a huge historie fan I highly agree with that iwaaki's art style does have same character expression feel to it I still think his level of quality in his writing is exceptional and on the same playing field as yoshihiro togashi which is why like togashi he gets a pass (for me) on the criticism of his art.

    1. Anon #1 is generous, but should not have to go into debt for $22.30, you should just pay up.

  9. You're awesome for continuing this! I'd like to ask, could you ever continue the manga 'Souten Kouro' as well? It's a manga about the 3 kingdoms period of China. The scanlation stopped at volume 5 (out of 36) for some reason. It would be great if you could pick it up after Ad Astra or whenever you can.

    1. Yes of course. I'll work on the next volume this fall/winter.

That one, I tend to keep adopt a slow/steady pace to, as in only 3-ish volumes per year.
