Snow White and other Grimm-Like Fairy Tales

I intended to have this done by New Year's but oh well, at least it's finally done! I hope you enjoyed your first taste of Morohoshi Daijirou. Feel free to tell me which stories you've particularly enjoyed. His other works Personal Illustrated Reference of Fish and Birds which I mentioned before here, contain a similar range of sci-fi, comedy, mystery, fantasy oneshots along the same line as this book, so I eventually intend to get around to those in due time as well (assuming no one else beats me to it). That's it for now. Expect another new 1-volume project to be out in late-January (hopefully).

Also, based Illuminati-manga said they'd pick up Umibe so everyone can now (hopefully) shut the fuck up about it.

  1. Are you going to do Umibe after Illuminati dies?

    1. Judging by his previous post, the answer will most likely be:

      No.

Wow, I pity him putting up with such annoying anons.

  3. Awesome, thank you Hox, you are a god among men. One question though... do you have an estimate on when is Punpun going to be translated? I'm dying to know what happens and I know you're the only one that is good enough to translate that thing.

  4. Thank you for all the effort you put in, Hox, everything you release is a joy for me.

Also I'm sorry you've had to deal with all this bullshit. I guess everyone's love for you just went too far.

  8. Well now I feel like an idiot. The other post got buried under all the new ones and I didn't realize you were still releasing chapters.

  9. It was quite a good ride thanks a lot!

  10. Isn't Illuminati Manga understaffed, and carrying on a lot of projects? Recipe for disaster. Still grateful that they picked it up, though.

    1. Still better than my group, which has a staff of 1 person and is tied down to long-term projects like Joe and Sangokushi.

    2. Speaking of Joe, any news? It's been a month since the last upload.

    3. I normally separate each Joe volume into 6~8 chapters but this time, I used only 4. So the 4th chapter is a very long chapter that finishes off the entire volume, which is why it's taking rather long for my typesetter to finish, combined with obligatory real-life commitments for winter holidays and new year's,

  11. Are you planning on releasing Punpun as a complete volume or releasing each chapter individually over the span or a few days?

  12. These fairy tales are great--very surreal! Thank you for translating them for us, it's much appreciated.

  13. Wow, that was awesome. One of the few manga I really have to go back and read again. If you do the other, I would love to see it.

I've always enjoyed seeing how authors rework fairytales into their own styles. At first glance, I have to say that the story of the two sausages was the most memorable. (Especially how he changed such a psychotic original into something that really makes twisted sense!) After reading again, I'll make some more comments.

Thanks for your hard work! It is much apprecieated!
