Gyanki-Hen Volume 9 (Sept 24)

Volume 8's now done with chapter 70! Volume 9 will follow shortly and I'll make the updates in this post. In other news, I hear FKMTcrazy is looking to get some help (translators, editor/cleaners, typesetters, etc.) So if you enjoy reading Fukumoto manga and can help out, you should head over to their site and leave a comment.
And here we go with volume 9!
I hope the explanation in the chapter makes sense to those unfamiliar with Japanese. I tried to explain it without going too tl note heavy and using a lot of Japanese terms.
It's possible to figure out what Zero realized after reading this chapter if you've been paying close attention.

  3. Thanks for the volume!
Btw do you guys have any plans on working on the sequel of Kurosawa?

  4. Thanks Hox! Fantastic work as always! By the way, it's a good thing somebody found better raws for volume 9 because I think that some pages were still missing in mine. Volume 10 should be ok though. (I double checked it)

  5. I don't understand all of the change in perception presented in Ch. 71, but I assume at least part of it is parsing "takaranuma de" as "ta kara nu made" instead. And I guess "budda no saigo" is "da".

    1. Yeah you're on the right track, but you're off about the Buddha part. It all gets explained in the next chapter.

  6. That's possibly the worst download service I've ever come across. I've never had any site like that have to have an application to download the file and try to get me to download several junk apps at the same time. That's a real first.

Thanks for the chapter Hox, not really your fault. Any chance of using an alt host or a choice to download from in future though?

    1. You're probably clicking the wrong thing. Sendspace doesn't cause you to download any .exe files.

    2. Still, in case you want another link: http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/449876/Gyanki-Hen-c71-zip.html

    3. Maybe, but it did give me the file in the end which confuses in in that case. Who knows?

    4. I know you probably wont check this again, but occasionally Sendspace goes to a different page before it goes to the download page and you have to uncheck the box that asks you if you want to use their download accelerator or whatever it is, kinda like how adobe trys to get you to download McAfee with flash. If you uncheck it, I think you get a cookie that tells them you don't want it for a while. Hope that helped/made sense, kinda tired and fried.

  10. Thanks for the latest chapter, I wonder how this is going to end. Can anyone tell, how many more volumes are left in this arc. I just can't wait for the old man to appear again. This arc is interesting but there is not much tension there; I want the usual life and death games to begin. Still this arc is very enjoyable and worth a read. Again thanks for all the hard work guys!!

    1. The arc goes all the way until the end of part 2, which ends at 10 volumes. I have a feeling we'll get to the really crazy death-games in part 3, seeing as how part 2 ended. You'll see soon enough.

  11. I meant the senile old man from the part 1. I really enjoyed the part 1.

  12. Interesting development, so the well was after all the secret hiding place? I also found something odd about the well incident; but wasn't expecting it to be the secret room. So the mystery is all settled then, or there is still a twist

  13. Why Sawako's name is encircled? I have no idea, where this is going... maybe both the messages needs to be combined to get the full answer to the puzzle.

  14. Now this feels a little suspicious, why nobody ever moved the books from the table? It has been like, what? 2 years?

    1. Kijurou could've simply told the staff who maintains his house to leave his study untouched, or at least, the stuff on his desk.

    2. But how did kijurou know where he was going to be emprisoned..?

      Delete
    3. He didn't, he set it up as a quest for his inheritance after his death.

      Delete
    4. Ok but as far as we know, the quest is about where he is located.

    5. edit : consider I'm stupid, I forgot he is emprisoned with his treasure.

  15. would u guys translate kaiji part 1?

  16. Really, I don't get it. It's just becoming more and more confusing for me. I don't know how Zero managed it solve the mystery from those vogue and random clues. Can't wait for the next chapter. By any chance another speed release, hox? Thanks for the chapter.
